The Walt Disney World Railroad is wheelchair accessible. RICH’S TIP: Guests can board and depart from any of the Walt Disney World Railroad stations: Main Street, U.S.A., Frontierland and Fantasyland. Not only does the Walt Disney World Railroad provide a leisurely escape from all the hustle and bustle of Disney’s Magic Kingdom but if guests hop aboard the train when the park opens they can arrive at Frontierland well ahead of the crowds. All of the trains were built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in Philadelphia during the 1920s. Broggie – usually only two of the trains are running simultaneously. Disney’s four trains are named the Walter E. The Frontierland station was added the following year. The Walt Disney World Railroad, which serves more than 1.5-million passengers annually, was one of the original attractions at Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park when the theme park opened in 1971.

The railroad’s three stations can be found at the park entrance (just walk through the tunnel and go up the stairs), Frontierland (between Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad) and New Fantasyland.

An authentic 1928 steam-powered train, the Walt Disney World Railroad travels around the perimeter of Disney’s Magic Kingdom for a magical, 20-minute, 1.5-mile journey that includes recorded narration detailing all of the interesting sights along the way.
